Um quarto de século (A quarter of a century)

A Birthday Workout

Hike across green Ireland;
Bike the USA;
Backpack through New Zealand,
But don’t call it a day…

Do yoga in lovely Paris;
Jump rope in Katmandu;
Avoid Italian pasta,
(Well, maybe taste, but don’t you chew!)

Climb atop Mt. Everest;
Do aerobics on China’s Wall;
Lift weights on Mexican Beaches;
And honey, that’s not all…

Shake your booty with native dances
In Fiji and Bora Bora;
Move your body and exercise
Like you’ve never done before.

Okay; that’s good; you’re finished;
Now you can take a break;
You’ve finally burned enough calories
To have your birthday cake!

By Joanna Fuchs

It is already almost one month since that I turned 25 years old, but despite the delay, I could not fail to post about this important date, after all, is not always that we celebrate a quarter of century! Happy belated birthday to me! I am getting old...

Budapest night life

Me in Buda

Ohhhhh

No satisfied to get the first place of the VJs championship in Brazil, my brother Chico Abreu, got the third place at the world contest of VJs in Budapest (Hungary)!!! Yeah! And as the first three places were won by Brazilian, apart of the Carnival, the soccer and the beautiful landscapes, Brazil now will be renowned for our VJs!

As my brother was leaving from Budapest straight to Brazil, I could not waste the oportunity to go and congratulate him for winning and also to see the beautiful and yellow- reddish Budapest.

To celebrate the end of the Festival and award the winners, the organizers made a big party at one of the famous baths from Buda with three rooms (all with pools) and the hall entrance plenty of people from all over the world dancing electronic music in their bathing suits!! Was unforgettable!

____________________________________________________________________

(Bad News From Brazil...)

One minute of silence for the victms of the natural disaster that occurred this week in my mother's hometown and nearby towns of Nova Friburgo, where I lived one of the best periods of my life and of which I have only good memories...

The incident devastated over three villages in the state of Rio de Janeiro and left around 800 dead people and thousands homeless.

Let's pray for them!

Culpar a natureza???JAMAIS!

Quem puder ajudar... AJUDE-NOS A ESPALHAR ESSA INFORMAÇÃO!!

Back in Europe: Madrid - Geneva

Me and Chico arriving in Madrid
Tourist Picture

We again

It was very sad saying good bye to my parents at the airport, (it is always hard, but this time as my brother was coming with me – even for just one month – I could see the sadness though their eyes) seeming as we were abandoning them forever, even it do not being truth!!

In the plane, I was a bit nervous to have a pain, since I had extracted my two last wisdom teeth just three days before the trip, but luckily I took a special medicine and nothing bad happened.

Actually the teeth thing resulted in a very funny episode!! As I was not drinking alcohol, my brother drunk the two bottles of wine which I was entitled plus his two!! After drinking all, he was talking to me three times louder than the normal, completely drunk and trying to find a way to get one more bottle!! (I am glad he slept ten minutes after the fifth bottle the gentle air-hostess gave to him, otherwise, he would wake up the entire plane!).

As we had two-hour interval between the flight of Madrid and Geneva and the Airport from Madrid is very close to the city, me and Chico went to check how the capital of Spain looks like.

Beyond being the capital of Spain, Madrid is also the largest city in the country, dwelling approximately 3.233.000 habitants. I enjoyed very much the architecture, the large squares with fountains, trees and flowers and my brother the Spanish girls!! (men!). One hour and a half was not definitely enough to see everything, giving more desire to come back soon!

Back to the trip then last stop: Geneva airport!! Was very thrilling seeing my French-English family again after the three months I spent in Brazil! My brother simply loved then and my parents were very pleased to hear that! Finally, back in my French home!!

______________________________________________

Lar, doce lar! (Home, sweet home!)

Me and my mom

Me and my brother saying goodbye

With some couch-surfers

After living for 6 months in San Francisco (United States) to improve my English and take some Merchandising Fashion classes, I came back to Brazil and decided moving out to somewhere in Europe to learn French, in my opinion, the most beautiful language in the world!

As I received a very good work proposal (I thought, because it was awful!) from Switzerland, I went and after living there for 3 months – at the French part of the country- I decided to move out to France (still boarder with the Helvetic Country) to finally realize my dream and “give an up grade” in my career!!

After three months in Rio, hanging out with my good friends, having nice time with my family, knowing new people from all over the world and waiting for my visa status, I finally got it and I am back in France with a student/work visa for a year!! I am so happy for it!!

The best new was that my brother, Chico Abreu, came to Europe with me!! As he got the first place in a VJs championship in Brazil (Yes, I am so proud of him!!) and the final will be in Budapest (Hungary), he came with me and after knowing my place and the surround, he went to Barcelona and now is in his European BackPack until the beginning of the video’s dispute!

In Rio, as I told, I had a great time with my old friends and also, made some new friends through couchsurfing.com. One of those was Mickael Rakotondrazanany.

Andy Mickael, as he is known, is the designer of the brand HAGAMAINTY. Originary from Masagascar, Mickael moved to Paris, the City of Lights and lived there for around 10 years working as a Fashion Designer and just moved to Rio de Janeiro to explore new possibilities in the carioca fashion scene!

Watch out Brazilian Directors if you are looking for a new concept for your Fashion Brand!! Take a look in his website: www.hagamainty.com.

Good luck Mika!!!

Boa sorte Mika!!!
