Como alguns já sabem, resolvi retornar ao Brasil em busca de produzir uma moda mais consciente e sustentável, investindo na mão-de-obra local, produzindo renda para trabalhadores antes desempregados e explorando temas e paisagens inspiradores que só nosso país tem, seja de pobreza, desigualdade social e corrupção ou de beleza natural, diversidade cultural e nossa alegria contagiante. 

Devo confessar que a "cultura política" brasileira (principalmente em período de pré-eleição), a falta de incentivo fiscal do governo, além de taxas e aumentos abusivos de empréstimos bancários à especulação mobiliária são de desanimar qualquer corrente que vá contra ao atual sistema. Principalmente após viver em um dos melhores países em termos de qualidade de vida do mundo, onde lixo na rua é raridade e a taxa de analfabetismo é zero, como a Suíça!

Pode-se considerar até utopia querer mudar essa febre de "Fast-fashion" em um país como o Brasil, que valoriza mais o que vem de fora ao invés de criar uma identidade própria, onde a maioria vive da cópia de tendências internacionais, onde confunde-se roupa com moda e restringe-se sustentabilidade à ecologia. Porém são esses obstáculos que fomentam a minha vontade de mudar o modo como se pensa e se produz moda no Brasil e no mundo e é muito bom saber que existem pessoas que pensam como a gente! 

No último final de semana, participei do evento Paraty Eco Fashion, que aconteceu em Paraty entre os dias 14 e 16 de Setembro, realizado pelo Instituto Colibri em parceria com o SESC e com apoio de gente de nome como o Instituto e, gnt e Instituto Rio Moda. A segunda edição do evento reuniu exposições, workshops, mostras de projetos e debates de fazer chorar, tamanha a emoção em ver que um sonho quando sonhado junto fica muito próximo de se tornar realidade!

Irei postando, com o decorrer dos dias, fotos e curiosidades sobre a relação de moda e sustentabilidade e o que rolou nesse evento maravilhoso que deveria ser referencia para outros futuros.

As some people already know, I decided to return to Brazil in search of producing a more conscious and sustainable fashion by investing in handcraft, local labor, producing income for unemployed workers and exploring themes and inspiring landscapes that only our country has, whether of poverty, social inequality and corruption or natural beauty, cultural diversity or our contagious joy.

I must confess that the "political culture" in Brazil (mainly in pre-election time), the lack of tax incentives from the government, abusive fees and increases in bank lending are discouraging any person that goes against the current system. Especially after living in one of the best countries in terms of quality of life in the world, where garbage on the street is rare and the illiteracy rate is zero, like Switzerland!

It can be considered an illusion the will to change this rash of "Fast fashion" in a country like Brazil, which values ​​the most what comes from other countries instead of creating its own identity. Where the majority live by copying international trends, where dressing is mistaken with fashion and sustainability is limited to ecology. But these are obstacles that foster my desire to change the way  of thinking and producing fashion in Brazil and in the world and is very good to know that there are people who think like us!

On the last weekend, I attended the event Paraty Eco Fashion, held in Paraty, between 14 and 16  of September, conducted by Colibri in partnership with SESC and supported by the Institute E, GNT Instituto Moda Rio. The second edition of the event gathered exhibitions, workshops and projects  that made you cry, such a thrill to believe that when you dream a dream together it is very close to become a reality!

I will be posting, over the days, pictures and curiosities about the relation of fashion and sustainability and about what happened in this wonderful event that should be a reference for other future ones.
